2。Cnn New York

Please keep a cool heart when discussing these issues. There are many sides to this story and it is important for all of us to try to understand the world from different perspectives. For many of us, it is enough to try to understand without necessarily coming to conclusions. As a Canadian, for example, I do not have to come to a conclusion or make a judgement - but I do have the responsibility to seek to understand the perspectives of those involved. I have the responsibility not to knee-jerk my way into a judgement, I have the responsibility to be patient, to cut through emotion to seek logic. Patience and forgiveness are important parts of learning.

I should also be rigorous in rhetoric - it is not ok to be a sheep; it is not ok to just follow heated emotion; it is not ok to be ignorant particularly when there is so much information around us.

For example, to compare 400 possibly knife wielding Buddhist monks or some hot-headed and young men and woman to Nazis is, in my opinion, utter nonsense - it is nonsense because it, in my opinion, shows the speaker to have a complete lack of understanding of the horrors of the Nazi regime had in destroying amongst others 6 000 000 Jews, as well as gypsies, political dissidents, homosexuals and others who were not in favour during Hitler's stay on this world. It is ignorant to make such a comparison but unless you are informed of the Nazi horror, you may easily make these statements.

It is hard to reconcile feelings of anger and hurt and outrage and confusion mixed with other feelings of nationalism and pride. It is hard to understand what is true when there are so many opinions being flung about.

It is extremely important to seek information - unbiased information or information that is balanced with other information. Hard facts are sometimes difficult to come by while hearsay and gossip and rumour seem too easy to believe, particularly if we sit on one side of the fence - we believe what our emotions already tell us.. but this may not be the truth.

Be rigorous in finding information.. be hard on the problem, be soft on the people.

I thank the creators of this site for their efforts. I hope my words have not offended any one.

Seriously, do you people think the whole western world is stupid or ill-motivated? That Dalai can deceive everyone from presidents to interllects?

I'm from china, I love my country, and I have been to Tibet, and made friends with many monks, they are the purest people in the world, not asking for anything.
Don't you wonder, what have the government done to them to push them to stand up? my history might not be great, but i can only recall 2 times buddhist monks have involved in protests, out of the thousand years of buddhism history. Awhile ago in burma and now in tibet. Don't chinese ever wonder why? Or just think that Dalai is the almighty, who can deceive everyone in Tibet, and in the outside world? and the chinese are the only smart people who can see through his lies?

I live in the US, and when people ask me about situation in Tibet, I don't tell them the truth, I can only tell them that the truth is blockaded by the chinese government. That is the only truth I can speak of...

I guess i am offending people here... I apologize, but I just don't understand why even my fellow chinese are demonize Dalai, when for so many years he has walked his talk of non-violence.
